The complex offers a chance to gain an understanding of the role that Australia plays in space exploration as a member of the NASA network. It provides continual radio contact with spacecraft as they explore the solar system and further, including current missions to Mars, Mercury, Pluto and the ongoing Voyager missions.

The complex offers an exclusive and educational environment for visitors of any age. Among the attractions on offer are the southern hemisphere’s largest antenna complex, the latest images from the planet Mars and a piece from the moon which is billions of years old. There are spacecraft models as well as authentic space hardware.

Visitors can learn about space missions of the past and future in one of the theatres, see astronaut suits and experience foods the astronauts eat while in space. You can also find out all the latest space news or spend time in the café or gift shop.

The Centre is on the grounds of the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex (CDSCC) 421 Discovery Drive Tidbinbilla about 35kms southwest of Canberra.

A children’s playground and picnic area are also available as part of the complex. There is no charge to visit and it is open every day from 9 am until 5 pm.
